Taiwan NGO Fellowship Program 2026 (Fully Funded in Taiwan)

A new fully funded international fellowship has opened for NGO professionals across Asia, offering hands-on experience within one of the region’s most dynamic civil society ecosystems.

The Taiwan NGO Fellowship Program 2026 is now accepting applications, providing a short-term, immersive opportunity for professionals working in development, social impact, and nonprofit sectors.

This programme is organised by the Taiwan Alliance in International Development, a leading platform connecting Taiwanese NGOs with global partners.

Programme Overview

The Taiwan NGO Fellowship is a field-based professional exchange, not an academic scholarship. It is designed for individuals who want practical, real-world exposure to NGO operations rather than classroom learning.

The programme will run from:

  • 4 October to 1 November 2026
  • Location: Taipei

Participants will engage in:

  • NGO placements
  • Training workshops
  • Site visits
  • Regional networking activities

What the Fellowship Covers

This is a fully funded programme, covering all major costs:

  • Round-trip international airfare
  • Accommodation (shared housing)
  • Daily meals
  • Local transportation within Taiwan
  • Training sessions and programme activities

Although there is no monthly stipend, the full funding structure ensures that participants can attend without financial burden.

Programme Structure

The fellowship combines learning with direct field engagement:

1. Orientation & Workshops

Participants receive training on Taiwan’s civil society landscape, development approaches, and NGO management.

2. NGO Placement (Core Component)

Fellows are embedded in Taiwanese NGOs for approximately three weeks, contributing to real projects such as:

  • Programme design and implementation
  • Event coordination
  • Fundraising strategies
  • Community engagement

3. Networking & Collaboration

Participants connect with NGO leaders, policymakers, and fellow professionals across Asia-Pacific.

4. Final Project Output

Each fellow is required to propose a future collaboration project, encouraging long-term partnerships beyond the programme.

Why This Fellowship Matters

The Taiwan Alliance in International Development designed this programme as part of a broader effort to:

  • Strengthen civil society collaboration across Asia-Pacific

  • Build long-term, cross-border development networks

Unlike many short-term fellowships, it emphasizes practical engagement and sustained collaboration, not just exposure.
