Scholarships for International Students
International English Admission Scholarship
International students admitted to eligible English-language undergraduate programmes can receive C$7,500 per term, up to C$60,000 over eight study terms.
Applicants need at least an 80% admission average and must meet the programme and enrolment requirements. The scholarship is renewable subject to the conditions set by the university.
International English Academic Excellence Scholarship
The university also offers 100 scholarships worth C$10,000 to high-achieving international undergraduate students.
Applicants must generally have an admission average of at least 95%. This scholarship is not renewable but can be combined with the International English Admission Scholarship.
French-Language Scholarships
International Francophone and Francophile students enrolled in eligible French-language bachelor’s or master’s programmes can qualify for the Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship, which substantially reduces tuition fees. Eligible students are automatically considered.
Is It Fully Funded?
No.
The University of Ottawa scholarships provide substantial tuition assistance, but they do not generally cover all living, travel and personal expenses.
For example, the International English Admission Scholarship can provide up to C$60,000 over four years, but it is primarily a tuition reduction.
